If you want some background first, here is an introduction to me. You may already know that I was obese and very unfit up to the age of 50. A warning from my doctor changed all that, and I'm now far fitter and healthier at age 60 than I ever was in my 20's, 30's and 40's. I moved fitness from being a doctor's instruction in my life into a hobby, then a career, and now my passion. The proof that my obese days are gone lies in my trophy cabinet, as I'm the current World Champion Miami Pro Fitness Model for the over-50 age group - as well as holding a range of other trophies and awards in the fitness industry.

The paperwork shows I have an International Diploma in Advanced Personal Training as well as Advanced Certification in Nutrition for Weight Loss and Nutrition for Physical Performance. But perhaps more important than that is I can combine formal learning with total hands-on experience of the best 'Fat-To-Fit-at-Fifty' story I know - my own!

Having made a major difference to my own fitness, I'm keen to help other over-50's do the same, through my radio, TV, video, books and my Personal Training services. In PT, I have already helped dozens of my Personal Training clients towards their fit-up and fat-down goals by my approach of focussing on three elements - movement, nutrition and attitude. Plus a fourth, more subtle one; providing the motivation to help them keep on-track between our sessions. None of my clients has yet followed me onto the competition stage – but my approach has helped all to make significant progress on their fitness, vitality and health.

I have an obsession with incremental progress and am a big believer in written progress tracking. My view is that 'Measurement is Motivation' and I find monitoring in this way leads to success in achieving the short, medium and long term goals agreed with my clients. Expect to see your progress documented by lots of spreadsheets if you become a client of mine!

The 'Fit Happens' System (self-guided)

52 week course

‘Fit Happens’ is the name of a fitness lifestyle plan I’ve created for you to follow at home and in your local gym covering both nutrition and exercise.

It is designed to brig the maximum results to you in the minimum possible time. It wouldn’t work if it tried to make fitness the number one priority everyday, in everything; I know the busy life everyone has these days. It is designed, instead, to make you want to stick with the plan – to help move you into a fitness fan where you are looking forward to the next step.

On the exercise front, the Fit Happens System is designed for around 3 gym visits a week for resistance training, and between 3 and 5 cardio sessions.

These numbers are variable. If you intend to do more than this, then probably the ABC7 System is probably most appropriate for you.

Fit Happens comes complete with spreadsheets to record your progress and track workouts. Sample spreadsheets and full instructions of course are provided.

There are also 130 videos and 260 photos – showing all the exercises mentioned, including all the options depending on your preferences and equipment availability.

On the nutrition front, there is a separate guide ‘Easy Fitness Nutrition’ which takes you through the steps of calculating the optimum calories and nutrients for you, and takes you through the key variables of ingredient groups, portion size and timing.

I try to keep realism involved by ensuring that the nutrition advice is real-world compatible, as well as close to fitness-perfect compatible as possible.

‘Easy Fitness Nutrition’ is included with the Fit Happens System.

I know you have more to do than think of fitness, and even though you’ve made that magic decision to make fitness a key point of your life from now on, the System is flexible enough to cope with your real life and activities.

Fit Happens is delivered either by email attachments and web links – or by a USB stick which I can post to you. The one-time fee of £29 covers everything, including email support to ensure you can follow the plan and derive maximum benefit from it.
